Over the past quarter of a century, the hinterland of the capital city has undergone the most significant socio-spatial transformation in the modern history of Slovakia. More than 50 thousand new flats have been built here, and the population has grown by the size of the towns of Žilina or Prešov. Specific migration is reshaping the original environment and defining new forms of everyday life, relationships to Bratislava and to suburbs with each other.
The exhibition attempts to capture these complex and multilayered processes through thematic maps, visualisations and interactive models. Let us look together at the different ways in which this change is manifested and what everything is involved, what kind of person shapes this environment, lives in it and is being shaped by it.
The exhibition is open from April 22 until October 1, 2023.
