Múzeum mesta Bratislavy v spolupráci s Bratislavským mestským zastupiteľstvom a mestským centrom LOOM vás pozývajú na komunitné podujatie (NOT) YOUR SPICES.

Cieľom tohto podujatia je spochybniť stereotypné predstavy o ľuďoch so zahraničným pôvodom. Naším zámerom je vytvoriť priestor, v ktorom si komunity budú môcť samy formovať program a zdieľať svoje príbehy a naratívy vlastným hlasom.
Tieto príbehy sú dôležitou, no často prehliadanou súčasťou našej spoločnej histórie alebo bývajú zjednodušované. Spoločne sa budeme navzájom počúvať, učiť sa jeden od druhého, budovať kolektívny rešpekt, užívať si, jesť a tancovať.

Program zahŕňa:

úvodnú prezentáciu s @chefshreyo s názvom Our Spices: Why is it important to talk about spices? How spices shaped our shared histories

čítanie rozprávok v rodných jazykoch (japončina, perzština a ďalšie)

krátku diskusiu s @booksandtravelman v spolupráci so študentmi z @lightfifuk o tom, ako môže liberálny západný diskurz o právach menšín škodiť lokálnym komunitám po celom svete.

Podujatie uzavrieme spojením tradičnej, latinskej a klubovej hudby v nádvorí múzea.

The Bratislava City Museum, in cooperation with the Bratislava City Council & City run center LOOM, invites you to the community event (NOT) YOUR SPICES.

The aim of this event is to challenge stereotypical ideas about people with foreign backgrounds. Our intention is to create a space where communities can shape the program themselves and share their own stories and narratives in their own voices.

These stories are an important, yet often overlooked, part of our shared history or are often reduced. Together, we will actively listen to one another, learn from each other, foster collective respect, enjoy, eat & dance.

The programme includes:
● an opening presentation with @chefshreyo called Our Spices: Why is it important to talk about spices? How spices shaped our shared histories
● reading fairy tales in native languages (japanesse, farsi & other)
● short discussion with @booksandtravelman in collaboration with students from @lightfifuk about how the liberal western discourse on minority rights is harmful to local communities around the world.

We will close the event with the blend of traditional, latin and club music in the museum’s courtyard.

In addition, you can look forward to traditional international food and refreshing drinks.
